Location: Albena Resort (Black Sea)
Status: Project, 2017
Client: Albena AD
Total Built-up area: 25.750 m²
The sea-side hotel Elitza is situated on the beach, close to the preserved natural site of Baltata, in the Southern part of Albena resort. The project is part of the consistent policy of the owners to reconstruct and renovate the existing hotels from the 70’s, step-by-step, making no damage to the existing harmony between the buildings and the beautiful landscape.
The architectural concept is based on the idea to safeguard the remarkable well-known image of Albena Resort – white staggered structures, stepping back upwards, which provide sea view to maximum number of hotel rooms. The space planning allows good orientation and short vertical and horizontal links between the different sectors. The entrance lobby is designed as a striking 28 m high atrium space. Natural light penetrates through the skylight and expose the internal circulation of the hotel to the visitors.
Large openings connect the consecutive public spaces from the main entrance through the lobby to the hotel gardens and the exit to the beach. The Y-shape plan allows the differentiation of two separate yards - one for the swimming pools and noisy activities, and second for outdoor dining and quite entertainments in front of the restaurant.
The project makes provision for new high standard hotel rooms with large bathrooms and balconies. It includes 235 rooms and 27 apartments. Each apartment opens to a large roof terrace with sea-view. All services correspond to the requirements of a 4 stars hotel category.
