The project provides significant improvement of the energy efficiency of the building and achieves comfort and lower maintenance costs through complex measures. It includes reconstruction of the building envelope, roof renovation and new heating system. An appropriate entrance area is created, together with new shopping, conference and temporary exhibition space, opened to a small patio at the back. New ramps and stairs provide accessibility to the building. The new façade interprets in a modern way the concrete structure and rhythm of the existing building. Light laminated timber structure creates an opportunity for different art activities on top of the building.
